Social Media Scenario: Oh no! I left my cell phone at home, and it is really important for me to get a hold of the president of my organization because we have to finish planning this meeting. What to do?
Solution: Well, I do have a twitter account where I can easily connect with her and I can easily find a computer on campus. Thanks Social Media!!!

While that is a more cheesy way of looking at social media, it is a very important way to stay updated. For most companies, organizations, or anything you really do, being able to reach people depends on the use of different social medias.
But to come closer to home, all my organizations have both a twitter account and a Facebook. It helps us to keep people up to date with what we are doing. Also it helps to see what our friends and followers are doing to help us learn more about what programs we should plan.

It's amazing to see, just in the past few years, how the first step of establishing a business, club, or even personal branding, involves establishing a virtual presence and of course, Twitter and Facebook. Mashable.com is a great resource for everything social media, and I would recommend following them on Twitter to help build your social media presence.
ReplyDeleteSocial Media is extremely important in regards to generating messages to the masses. I believe these days that you cant have a succesfull media campaign without a social media presence. I believe this post exemplifies why companies or individuals should utilize social media to promote thier brand.
